Speech css has hard-coded colors and values, unused scss variables, and scss variables that don't have sensible names.

It should be clear what each variable will change in the app.
-[ ] BEM naming convention compliance should be more consistent.
-[ ] Font sizes should be responsive / use em/rem rather than px.
-[ ] Complete, separate size and font family for markdown / text.
